During the 2014 Partners Forum, Girls’ Globe engaged their global network to write about topics related to maternal and newborn health. Girls’ Globe also focused on the discussion related to the importance of engaging youth in advocacy for maternal and newborn health as well as sexual and reproductive health. Girls’ Globe published ten blogs posts related to the Forum.

Social Media Reach

Girls’ Globe contributed to an overall successful #PMNCHLive coverage, including Daily Deliveries, Blog Posts and Social Media. Girls’ Globe used Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Google+ Hangouts and Facebook as channels to promote the campaign. On Twitter, Girls’ Globe was listed as a top contributor with 3,499,343 impressions – number 8th in the list.

Girls’ Globe engaged youth prior to and during the 2014 Partners Forum through Google + Hangouts, video and Instagram interviews. These interviews provided youth an opportunity to all their voices to be heard. Girls’ Globe also engaged leaders, decision-makers and other stakeholders attending the Forum. In addition, Girls’ Globe went “around town” in Johannesburg and asked South Africans questions related to the health and rights of women, adolescent girls and children.
